Dear Davidson Road families,

My name is John Morrone and I am pleased to be the principal of Davidson Elementary School. DRE is an amazing school community. We have wonderful students, a dedicated staff, and very supportive families. I am lucky to work alongside our vice principal, Marlo Konneke. Together, we are grateful to serve this school community.

DRE has a tremendous staff. We thank our teachers, CEAs, custodians, and support staff for their efforts in providing a connected, caring, and safe learning environment for all students. We work hard to design learning that is meaningful, developmentally appropriate and geared to help students develop a strong sense of agency as learners.

Staff at Davidson Road Elementary School are always engaged in professional learning, and we believe that learning is an ongoing, personalized journey which takes patience and time. Meaningful learning happens in a safe environment where we can take risks and learn from our mistakes. This journey is supported by collaboration, curiosity, reflection, and our relationships with others. With this belief in mind, we work together on our three learning priorities: literacy, numeracy, and social responsibility.

The Parent Advisory Counsel (PAC) plays an important function in our school. The PAC's work is instrumental in making a wide variety of learning opportunities available to our students. We thank the PAC for their help in funding field trips, cultural activities, and the construction of our Outdoor Learning Space. In addition, the PAC offers families and opportunity to build community and to learn alongside one another. We encourage all parents to learn more about the PAC by visiting the PAC section of our school's website.

Our school updates families through our bi-weekly email newsletter. We encourage families to stay informed. If you would ever like to connect with me, please do not hesitate to reach out by email or phone.

All the best,

John Morrone
